What time do the Nasdaq, gold and crude move the most? Minute by minute across 4,916 sessions

The best time to trade Micro Nasdaq, Micro Gold and Micro Crude based on their real volatility, and what it means for your stop and position size in a prop firm account.

In Micro Nasdaq, the first half hour (9:30 to 10:00 am New York time) holds 21% of the whole day's movement in just 8% of the time. Gold moves the most at 8:30 am, when US data comes out, and crude at the open, at 10:30 am and in the 2:28 pm settlement.

We measured it with the volatility profile of 4,916 real sessions: for each minute of the session, how much price moves on average, as a multiple of a normal minute in that market (1× = an average minute). It's the same calibration our futures simulator uses.
