The best of the 13 most popular TradingView strategies passes a Lucid 50K 11% of the time and blows the account 36% of the time. Combining the top four was worse: 3% passed and 63% blown.
The question
SuperTrend, UT Bot, Squeeze Momentum, Ichimoku, SSL Channel… they have thousands of likes and screenshots with green arrows at every turn. If you use them as they are, with their default settings, how often would you pass a funded account evaluation?
How we tested it
The 13 strategies coded as in their scripts, on the micro Nasdaq (MNQ) and the micro S&P (MES), with NinjaTrader 5-minute bars from 6 May 2019 to 25 June 2026. Rules of a June 2026 Lucid 50K ($3,000 target, $2,000 end-of-day trailing drawdown, $1,000 daily loss limit, 50% consistency), the same prudent risk management for all of them and a new evaluation every 15 sessions: 123 attempts per strategy. Each attempt passes, gets blown or stays unresolved after 60 sessions. No commissions: in your account, worse.
| Strategy (MNQ) | Pass | Blown | Unresolved |
|---|---|---|---|
| SSL Channel | 11% | 36% | 53% |
| UT Bot | 11% | 58% | 31% |
| TEMA | 11% | 55% | 34% |
| RSI + EMA | 6% | 31% | 63% |
| Hull MA | 5% | 63% | 32% |
| Parabolic SAR | 4% | 54% | 42% |
| Aroon | 4% | 53% | 43% |
| Vortex | 4% | 45% | 51% |
Three takeaways
- One in nine. If each attempt costs $120, each passed account costs about $1,100 in evaluations, counting the retries.
- The ones that pass most are among the ones that blow most. UT Bot and TEMA pass as often as SSL but blow more than half the accounts: that's volatility, not edge.
- The most common outcome is getting nowhere. For almost all of them, the most frequent result is "unresolved". With APEX's 30-day limit since 2026, those attempts would be expired accounts.
How it was calculated
FondeoReal lab: evaluation simulator with the risk management described, 1 tick of slippage on entry and no commissions. "Blown" includes getting within $400 of the floor, where our risk manager abandons the account. Rounded percentages. SuperTrend took no trades in our intraday version and isn't counted.
